Romanian Water Utility Gets EBRD Funding for Network Upgrades

Feb. 17 (Bloomberg) -- Apa Canal 2000 SA, a Romanian regional utility, secured a loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development to help fund sewage and water network upgrades in the southern county of Arges.

The 11.8 million-euro ($16 million) loan will go toward a regional investment program under the European Union’s Cohesion Fund for Romania to finance infrastructure for water-treatment, distribution and wastewater collection in Costesti, Pitesti, Stefanesti and Topoloveni and surrounding areas, according to an e-mailed statement from the London-based lender.
