Mott MacDonald Expands in Australia, New Zealand With Water Deal

April 2 (Bloomberg) -- Mott MacDonald Group Ltd., a U.K. management, engineering and development consultant, acquired AWT, a water and wastewater technology company, to expand in New Zealand and Australia.

No terms were disclosed today by Mott MacDonald in the statement announcing the deal to purchase the water-technology specialist that has offices in Auckland and Melbourne.

Mott MacDonald’s involvement in the region includes Sydney Water’s MacArthur water-filtration plant works and the Adelaide seawater reverse-osmosis desalination project for SA Water. AWT aided in the Rotorua treatment plant expansion and a membrane water-treatment facility for Taupo to remove arsenic from source waters, according to the statement.
