July 25 (Bloomberg) -- The U.S. Commerce Department proposed expanded penalties on Chinese solar-energy equipment in a victory for the U.S. unit of SolarWorld AG, which accused China of shifting production to Taiwan after losing an earlier case.

Chinese and Taiwanese producers including Trina Solar Ltd. were subject to duties to prevent the goods from being sold at unfairly low prices in the U.S., known as dumping, according to a statement from the agency.
